We may only have power tonight . . .
We’re ready for the storm. The last load of laundry is in the washer right now. Our bathtub is full of water. [I’m waiting to do the one in the boys’ bathroom until I am 100% positive the Bear is asleep. Apparently he did not have a good night last night.] M has searched for every available candle and flashlight in our house & found them. We have a hurricane lamp that is full of oil.
But I’m bored.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still paranoid. But like I said last year, there’s nothing like knowing a category 5 storm is bearing down on you. M is convinced we’ll lose power for longer than a few seconds this time because this storm has nowhere to go. It has to come inland. And the last time I looked at The Weather Channel, they had the eye going over just north of where we live.
I should probably not be as bored as I am. I can tell you my head hurts a lot more this time around. A LOT. I was supposed to do a walk this morning and I could barely get out of bed. Because this is already messing with my head, M is seriously worried about how I will react if the eye comes pretty much over us. To be honest, I’m worried about that, too. But not enough to panic.
If I don’t blog for a few days, it’s because we’re without power.
East Coasters, how are your preparations going? Good luck with everything! Stay safe!
