When I found out that I was pregnant, I started hanging around the message boards on TheBump.com [formerly known as TheNestBaby.com]. They have just about every kind of message board there. First trimester, second trimester, third. Babies 0-6 months, babies 6-12 months. Eco-friendly Family. Two under Two. You get the idea. It’s a wealth of information & completely overwhelming.
Katie was one of the girls on the boards around the same time as me. Please have tissues ready if & when you click that link, because it starts from the beginning of her blog. The very first post she made was about losing her sweet son Brenham on February 29, 2008. Katie’s been through a lot in the last 18 months. Her blog will run your emotions from sad to thrilled for her & Robb, her husband. I am happy to read it, because she truly is an inspiration.
This Saturday, Katie is participating in the annual Lakeshore Pregnancy Center Life Walk. [Please don’t use this blog entry as a place to argue your stance on abortion with me. This is a plea for help for a fellow mommy and a fellow blogger.] This is from the e-mail that she sent to me last night:
Each walker is taking ‘pledges’ that are tax deductable, the money will go to the program to help further reach out to the women facing unwanted pregnancies and save the lives of the unborn an issue very dear to my heart.
Checks can be made payable to “Lakeshore Pregnancy Center.”
I realize time is short, and money is tight but I would appreciate all the sponsors/support I can get 🙂
If you feel the need to donate, please e-mail Katie. I’m sure that if you spend even 5 minutes reading her blog, you will find that she is an awe inspiring woman. Katie’s story is one of those ones where you just can’t help but root for her. She’s amazing. My check is in the mail today. Please help her out if you can.
