On Cute Things Little Bear Does

He’s at M’s favorite age. M looooooves kids between 18 months and two years, because he says that’s when they’re the most adorable. And I’m kind of inclined to agree with him.

I have got to get this on camera, but one of Little Bear’s favorite new words [which means color in his world] is purple. He’s just . . . he says it in the most adorable way ever. [All five of you who get this reference, think "popping the p."] When he was up until one a.m. the other night – yeah, that’s started again – he wowed me with a few new words. He was shoving a book in my face, pointing to pictures, and demanding I tell him what “dat!” was. I pointed out a baby to him and he repeated it clear as day. Then he kept pointing to it and saying, “See? See? See Mama?” My heart melted, even after midnight.

One of his favorite games to play at dinner time consists of him pointing to a person and demands you tell him who “dat” is. It’s cute, but only for about two seconds and then it gets really irritating. For reference this is how one of those conversations usually goes.

LB: Dat!
Me: Pop.
LB: Dat!
Me: Brother.
LB: Dat!
Me: Pop.
LB: Dat!
Me: Brother.

Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. This goes on for ages, usually until he gets distracted by something his brother is doing, or until he decides he wants “DOWN!” from his chair.

He took off at a full run the other day for his bedroom. That was both thrilling and OMGTERRIFYING.

But seriously. Who can resist this face? I sure can’t.
