Saturday’s Top 5 Laughs

Good morning. How are all of you this fine last day of June? [Last day of June? Wasn’t it just February yesterday?!] I think most of the laughs from this week revolve around Little Bear.

This is funny to me, but may not be to you. Yesterday we went swimming at my dad’s house. LB usually likes swimming [lately he’s been grabbing his swimming teacher by the hand and taking her to the pool when it’s time for lessons], but he was having none of it yesterday. This is what he looked like for the first twenty minutes:

When I finally got him into his little raft, you’d have sworn I was cutting off one of his limbs. Once he settled down, he had a great time playing with the balls Miss Linda gave him. We were tossing them back and forth and he got so excited every time he “caught” one of them!

It took a while, but Little Bear has the concept of running down. I’m always after Butter to pick up his toys after he plays with them, but if he had done as I asked, I wouldn’t have this laugh. Little Bear was running through the living room this morning when he put his foot on one of the many books thrown around right now. His foot went out from under him and he landed on his bottom. He didn’t cry, which was good for me, because I was too busy laughing to console him.

I think that’s it. Butter did some funny things, but I can’t remember any of them right now.

1. What’s your favorite childhood snack that you still eat as an adult? I’ve always been a fruit person. I love dried apricots.

2. What food will you not eat the low fat version of? I have no idea. I even asked M. I mean, I only eat one kind of ketchup (Heinz). But that’s not a low fat version of something else, so.

3. What’s your favorite way to cool off during the summer? Swimming is always good. Lately I’ve been playing in the sprinkler with Butter.

4. What’s your favorite summer read? Once upon a time, I read Gone With the Wind every summer. I still have my original copy of it downstairs. It’s been a while since I’ve read it, though. I should do that this year.

5. What are you doing to stay cool in this awful heat? Hide inside. Our air conditioner isn’t working overtime yet. I do not like that this is going to be a stupid hot summer.
