Nostalgia

Five years ago today, it was unseasonably warm, very windy, and a little rainy. I’ll never forget the weather because that day, I married my best friend.

We’re both in agreement that it doesn’t feel like it’s been five years. Sometimes it feels like much less. Sometimes it feels like more. In the more than seven years we’ve been together, we have survived a move to a new state, building and buying a house, a couple of lost jobs, two beautiful boys, a NICU stay, and one brain surgery so far.

I couldn’t have asked for a better husband or father to our boys. I’m so lucky, and I’m so thrilled I realize how lucky I am.

A few snapshots from our wedding day. None of these are edited, but that’s a fiasco/story for another day.

At this point, I was already sick of having my photo taken.

To this day, this is my favorite photo of M from our wedding day. I have it in a frame somewhere.

I have no idea what he was saying, but apparently it was deserving of this look. He’s fairly used to it, LOL.

I love you, M. Here’s to many, many more years together.
